| Michael K. Brown Vice President, Underwriting |

| Mr. Brown joined IHC in October 2001 as Vice President of Underwriting. He
brought 28 years of insurance industry underwriting and operations background
and experience with him. He is responsible for our new business underwriting. |

| Prior to joining IHC, Mr. Brown most recently served as Vice President of
Insurance Operations for Washington National Insurance Company, Whitewater
Wisconsin. Between 1991 and 2001, he was responsible for establishing the
operations center in Whitewater. This facility evolved to become the sole
location for the underwriting and policy issue of Conseco Medical Division’s
individual and small group health insurance products. Between 1988 and 1991,
Mr. Brown was the Director of the Principal Financial Groups’ Disability Income
– Client Services Department. He served as Assistant Vice President, Xerox
Financial Services Life Administration for Johnson and Higgins/Kirke Van
Orsdell, Des Moines, Iowa in 1987. Mr. Brown began his underwriting insurance
career with Federal Home Life Insurance Company/Harvest Life Insurance Company,
Battle Creek, Michigan in 1973. |

| Mr. Brown has served as President of the Whitewater, Wisconsin Chamber of
Commerce and was a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for several
years. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Whitewater,
Wisconsin United Way and was a Director for the Whitewater School District’s
Excellence in Education Committee. Mr. Brown has also been very active in youth
sports activities, with a long history of coaching youth soccer, basketball,
baseball and hockey in Whitewater, Wisconsin and Des Moines, Iowa. |
